Some random tidbits on US gasoline demand over the Christmas period...
US gasoline demand for Christmas week 2021 (Sun-Sat) was up 33.95% from Christmas week (Sun-Sat) of 2020.
Christmas Day gasoline demand was 26.3% higher this year than 2020.
According to GasBuddy data, weekly (Sun-Sat) US gasoline demand fell 6.1% from the prior week and was 5.0% below the rolling four week average. It was the weakest week since the week of 5/16.
According to GasBuddy data, US gasoline demand on Christmas Eve fell 15.7% from the prior Friday, while Christmas Day saw a plunge of 51.4% from the prior Saturday.

With New Year's Day on a Saturday this year, Sunday should be a strong day for gasoline demand as the holidays end. Friday and Saturday will be very weak compared to normal.
